Tim Murphy came to the United States in 1988 from Ireland. In 1990, his love of the Martial Arts and his belief in the teachings of Master Ed Parker, Tim began his career in American Kenpo Karate. Tim received his training at Bronx Kenpo School under the guidance of 4th degree black belt Robert Somma. Tim is married with two children, and the entire family participates in Kenpo. Tim's wife Mary is a member of Rockland Kenpo's women's self defense class. Daughter Lauren received her Junior Black belt at the age of eight, in 2005. Connor, at the age of seven just recently was promoted to Green belt. It is Tim's attention to detail, pursuit of perfection, and willingness to have students think that has led to his success.
